What vision do you have for your business' future?  What are your short term and long term goals?  What are your most important objectives?  How will these objectives help you to achieve your goals?  How will you measure your progress?  How will you know if your business has veered off course?  Which products or services have the largest profit margins?  What are your emerging markets?  How can you increase repeat business?  How can you increase customer referrals?
 
How many of these questions can you answer truthfully and confidently?
 
If you were struggling, then perhaps it's time to re-visit your business plan.  Many business owners only pay lip service to their business plans, if they have one at all.  They are considered to be an annoying hoop that needs to be jumped through in order to gain financing.  Once this vital objective had been achieved, the business plan is chucked in the round filing cabinet in the corner, or forgotten at the back of a draw.  However, this is severely reducing the benefits of having a well researched and well written business plan.  Look at it another way - a business without a business plan is like a boat without a rudder, nautical charts, a radio and distress flares.  Would you really get into such a poorly equipped boat and venture out into unknown, potentially dangerous waters?  Probably not. 
 
So perhaps it's time to dust off your business plan, or write a new one that reflects the changes that have happened within your business and it's market place since you first started out.   An in-depth business plan enables business owners to remain focused on their goals, whilst remaining flexible to withstand economic changes etc.
